Timor-Leste exited the OECD fragility frameworks

DILI, 18 September 2020 (TATOLI)– Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Adaljiza Magno has introduced a report from OECD regarding State of Fragility in 2020 during the council meeting.

President for Council of Minister, Fidelis Manuel Leite Magalhães  said, the report was published by the organization of World Cooperation and Economic Development (OECD) in 17 of September 2020.

“The report shows Timor-Leste fragility is reduced in all dimension, other than the security which is continued to show increase in fragility  while the economic and environmental as factors that contribute to the exited of Timor-Leste from the list of fragility country” he said.

he wish all entities to continue working for Timor-Leste, to prevent the country  to be part  on the list of state fragility.

“Fragile State means weak state capacity or weak state legitimacy leaving citizens vulnerable to a range of shocks,f  but Timor-Leste has been excluded from the list, which is means the world acknowlege that Timor-Leste is a strong state,”Mr. Magalhães said.

Timor-Leste as Democratic country it has immense level for freedom, and is building the institutions as well as effort to develop economic and social sectors for all citizens capable of constitution for strengthening a democracy, peace and stability of a new young nation.

despite Mr. Magalhães  noted this country is yet to encounter a difficulties in socioeconomic sector.

“for this reason, State should set the efforts to to continue making improvement in the development of economic sector” he said.
