DÍLI, 1 december, 2020 (TATOLI) – Timor-Leste Budget 2021 will, among others, focus on efforts to revive the State Economy Development and Human Social, Prime Minister, Taur Matan Ruak said.
Timor-Leste Prime Minister, Taur Matan Ruak, recalled that the total of State Budget OGE allocated for 2021 is US$ 1.895 billion, with US $ 9.1 million from the development partners.
“The Government will give the priority to spend on the expenses related to human social and economic development in the next year,”Prime Ministe, Taur Matan Ruak said in the presentation of the 2021 State Budget, in National Parliament.
“Our budget framework is focused on human (social) development, In this aspect, attention must be given to various sectors such as the social protection, infrastructure, electricity, airports, port , development of information and communication technologies (ICT) and the oil sector,” he said
While in the scope of economy development, the Government will focus, one hand on the economic growth to fight against the poverty and the promotion of justice and equity.
According to the Head of Government, the measures contained in the Economic Recovery aim to increase the productivity, and stimulating Timor-Leste’s economy in 2021.
Thus, the Prime Minister revealed that the current Government intends to revitalize the economy with a view to achieving the goals defined for 2021.
According to Prime Minsiter, the Government’s proposal to shift the OGE to 2021 is mainly aimed at responding to the various challenges that the country has faced, with emphasis on natural disasters, the covid-19 pandemic and the political deadlock.
Taur said in his term as Prime Minister leading this Government, he wish to formulate the OJE 2021 to revitalize the country’s economy to open the opportunity to the young generation to accomplish their dream in the next year 2021.
