Japan provides US$90.900 to construct the public clinic in Lospalos

DILI, 21 dezembru 2020 (TATOLI)- The Japan’s Embassy in Timor-Leste held a signing ceremony of grand contract with the local NGO Haburas Dezenvolviment Talentu (HADEZTA) for the construction of public Clinic in Souro Village Lospalos with the amount provided from the Government of Japan in a total of US$90.900.

The support is provided under one of Japan’s assistance programs, namely the scheme of”Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects9GGP).

The contract agreement was signed by the Ambassador of Japan to Timor-leste, KINEFUCI Masami with Director of HADEZTA, Francisco de Araújo and the Minister of Health, Odete Maria Freitas Belo.

Ambassador KINEFUCI congratulated HADEZTA that their project was selected out of 51 proposals submitted to GGP this year.

Mr KINEFUCI also motivated HADEZTA by saying” Your further efforts on this project is privilege to complete it successfully and benefits the local people,”Mr KINEFUCI said.

Ambassador also appreciate the support of local government and Ministry of Health that their attention and maintenance are important to keep the clinic in a good condition where people receive adequate treatment for a long time in the future.

At the same time, The Minister of Health, Odete Maria Freitas Belo, thanked for the support from the People of Japan, since the beginning until today, continue to show their commitment to support the Timor-Leste development in health sector and other sectors.

The GGP project is aimed at improving the access to the health care for the community in the rural areas and the government of Japan decided to support the fund to the HADEZTA local NGO to implement the projects that will be started next year.

The Clinic will benefit to 3,744 people in Soro Village to improve their access to the health care services, ultimately their quality of life.
