DILI, 30 december 2020 (TATOLI) – Faced with rising numbers of coronavirus cases the President of Republic, Francisco Guterres Lú Olo declares a nine period of state of emergency for the New Year’s period.
The renewal of state emergency by 30 days, begin at 00:00 in january 3, 2021 to 4 of February 4 2020 at 23:59.
The announcement came just a few hours after the parliament has authorized the Government proposal on the State of the Emergency based on the growing number of seriously ill COVID-19 patients by the end of this month.
The extension of the state of emergency amid public calamity, sanitary situation in Indonesia as well as the development of the new covid-19 in other countries include Australia and Singapore.
“It is necessary to follow the measures implemented by the government and the health protocol to prevent the propagation of the pandemic within the country,” Press release statement from the office of the President.
This state of emergency will suspend and limiting all the right for international circulation, freedom of circulation and residential visa in all national territories and the right for resistance, and the right to be gathering as a group.
Until today Timor-Leste has recorded 44 positives cases and all the cases are imported cases with no death recorded.
