COVID-19: Ministry of Health registers two more active cases one recovery

DILI, 13 january, 2021 (TATOLI) – Ministry of Health registered two more active cases of covid-19 from Timorese couple who were illegally crossing the Batugadé Bobonaro border from West Indonesia Kupang to Timor-Leste.

The General Coordinator for COVID-19, Odete Viegas said, the couple are subsequently been sent to the compulsory confinement located in same location in Bobonaro Municipality.

“The 48-year-old husband and his 39-year-old wife, both asymptomatic, traveled on December 20 from Jakarta to Kupang with Garuda Airlines flight. On December 22, they continued their traveled to Atambua, where they stayed for more than a week before the couple were arriving in Mota ain with family car,”Ms Viegas said.

 The couple was performing the screening test on january 11, and the results turned positive.

“The couple was sent to a mandatory confinement together with 22 other people. All of them were crossing the border illegally ”Ms Viegas, said.

At the same Timor, Ms Viegas has revealed about the condition of a recovered patient, she said, the patient had performed the tests and the results were all negatives.

She added the patient is a 43-year-old man, traveled from London on 20 December. He made a stopover in Doha.  The following day, travelled with Qatar Airlines flight from Doha and Malaysia and arrived in Timor-Leste on december 22, 2020.
