Coronavirus: MoH is yet to registers any  severe symptoms in Timor-Leste

DILI, 1 february, 2021 (TATOLI) – The Minister of Health (MoH) reported on Sunday, that the Health Authority has not yet been  identifying any severe symptoms of the coronavirus in Timor-Leste.

The Coordinator of The Crisis team, Doctor, Rui Maria de Araújo notifies more than hundred cases of coronavirus have been registered in Timor-Leste.

” The most common symptoms, considered to be classic signs are fever, cough, sore throat. Loss of smell and taste, and difficult breathing, but majority of the patients in Timor-Leste were recovered after receiving proper treatment at Vera Cruz Isolation Center,” Mr Araujo said on press conference at Dili Convention Center.

Timor-Leste first case was recorded on march 2020 until today the total cumulative cases is 133 with 23 active cases of the number 93 have been recovered with no death reported.

according to Mr Araujo, most patients  at the vera cruz isolation center are rarely show up with the symptoms despite the results indicated that the these people were positive to covid-19.

“The disease could be transmitted from a person with rare symptoms to another people since the positive person can make a movement with a good condition,” he said.

With regards to this, the Government has decided to  conduct the mass testing to collect the samples for the diagnose.

“we appeals to the entire population to stay home and allow the MoH authorities to conduct the tests to every residents,” he said.

at the same time, the Authority also requests the population to comply with the measure imposed by the Government, including wearing masks and maintain the social distancing.
