DILI, 29 april 2021 (TATOLI)– The Government’s Council of Minister renewed the Major Disaster Declaration to deal with the recent flooding in Timor-Leste for 30 days.
The President for the Council of Ministers (PCM), Fidelis Magalhães said, Government approved this declaration to deal with the natural calamity that had happened recently in Timor-Leste caused by Tropical Cyclone Seroja.
Mr. Magalhães said the recent natural disaster had caused much damage in Dili and across several municipalities.
Following the reports from SEPS 21.889 people were affected by the floods across 12 municipalities including Oé-Cusse Raioa.
The number of people killed in the natural disaster rose to 42 and 15. 876.people were forced to evacuate to the 31 evacuation centers in Dili.
