DILI, 21 may 2021 (TATOLI)- The President of Republic Democratic Timor-Leste, Francisco Guterres Lú Olo expressed deep concern over the escalating tensions that happen in Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip.
“As a free country and independent, will continue to defend a pacific political solution and negotiated to break the conflict that happened between two countries or many countries with any reason,” President Lú Olo said.
Lú Olo hopes that the support from the international will eliminate the major conflicts that happened in both countries.
Recent tensions that started in East Jerusalem during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan spread to Gaza as a result of Israeli assaults on worshippers at the flashpoint Al-Aqsa Mosque compound and neighborhood of Sheikh Jarrah.
At least 227 Palestinians have been killed, including 64 children and 36 women, and 1,620 others injured in Israeli attacks across the blockaded territory since May 10, according to the Health Ministry.
The US President Joe Biden addressed the phone call with the Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu asks to de-escalate the tension on the path to a ceasefire.
However the Israel Prime Minister has not given any feedback, and the tension between the two countries is continued.
Thus the international community urged the United Nation to take rapid intervention towards this situation.
