DILI, may 25, 2021 (TATOLI) – The Vice President of the China Harbor Company, Wang Wei, today met with the Prime Minister of Timor-Leste, Taur Matan Ruak to update regarding the humanitarian support provided by the Chinese Community and his Company to the affected victims during the floods and the pandemic.
“We offer our support to the Timorese people, especially we provided the equipment to a different hospital in Timor-Leste, such as hundreds of thousands of surgical masks. And the other support of food items including rice, cooking oil as well as sugar. The Chinese community has already supported over the US $ 100,000, to Timorese people” said Vice President Wang Wei after the meeting with the PM.
Wang Wei also said that the Chinese community is committed to establishing a strong friendship with Timor-Leste through support during the health crisis and natural disaster.
The Prime Minister, Taur Matan Ruak, on the other hand encouraged the Chinese people to invest in mega projects and to help increase the capacity of resources and equipment likewise the Government will create the respective laws that will authorize this investment.
“The Chinese people have fulfilled the promise made to the Prime Minister to carry out this plan since the Chinese community is committed to contributing to the good of the Timorese people,” he said.
