DILI, may 26, 2021 (TATOLI) – Health authorities registered 231 cases of the new coronavirus, 215 in Dili, and 16 in other municipalities. 158 recoveries were also reported.
The Coordinator of the (CIGC), Rui de Araújo, said, regarding the new infections detected in the municipalities, Aileu has three cases, Bobonaro has seven cases, Covalima two and Viqueque four cases.
The country currently records 2,739 active infections, 6,245 confirmed cases, 14 deaths, and 3,492 recoveries since the outbreak began.
As for the cases announced today, Araújo stated that the proportion of those infected with symptoms is 11.6%. Among the infections detected today, 114 are men and 117 are women.
He added that currently 38 patients are under the treatment at Vera Cruz Isolation Center- 18 in obstetrics, all considered mild cases, one in pediatrics and 19 in internal medicine, five of them in serious condition (in intensive care) and dependent on a continuous positive airway pressure mask or in need of oxygen) and the rest moderate conditions.
The National Health Laboratory (LNS) has carried out 1,283 laboratory tests since yesterday, 13 of which in the context of sentinel surveillance, 87 through contact screening, 215 via random screening, 941 tests were performed following the requests for international and national traveling authorizations and 27 in quarantines. In addition, on May 25, 603 tests were carried out in the municipalities.
Regarding the evolution of the outbreak in the country, the incidence rate of covid-19 is, on average, in the last week, of 14 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants, while in Dili of 45.5, Bobonaro 10.7 and Covalima 5, 1.
The incidence shows that Dili remains a place of risk of contagion from SARS-CoV-2, followed by Bobonaro and Covalima.
