DILI, 07 june 2021(TATOLI)- The Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI) to Timor-Leste Sahat Sitorus announced the second phase of Humanitarian assistance from Indonesia to the Victim of a recent natural disaster in Timor-Leste.
The Assistance was handed over by the Ambassador of Indonesia to Timor-Leste Sahat Sitorus to the Secretary of State for Civil Protection (SSCP) this Monday.
At the ceremony Ambassador Sitorus said, this humanitarian aid is compassionate wallet assistance which was carried out by the two State-owned Companies Bank Mandiri, Pertamina International Timor Leste, SA, and also from the big family of the Indonesian Embassy in Dili.
“The budget for the aid is around $6000 which has been using to purchase the food items including $250 sacks of rice, 30 boxes of cooking oil, 220 boxes of instant noodles, 12 boxes of powdered milk for children, 46 boxes of biscuit to be distributed to victims of April 4,” Ambassador said.
Previously Ambassador said, Indonesia had provided $12.000 for the first phase of humanitarian assistance to SEPS.
The Secretary of State for Civil Protection (SECP), Joaquim Gusmão on behalf of the Government of Timor-Leste, expressed his deepest gratitude to the Government of Indonesia for the support provided to Timor-Leste during the critical time.
“On behalf of the Government and People of Timor-Leste I would like to extend my deepest appreciation to the Government of Indonesia through its Embassy in Dili, for the Support have been provided for Timor-Leste,” he said.
According to Mr. Gusmão, these humanitarian aids will be managed and distributed by SEPS to the April 4 victims.
