DILI, 12 july 2021 (TATOLI)- The non-profit organization, Ba Futuru (NGO) implemented the ‘Inspira Joven ba Mudansa’ or Youth Inspiration for Change program in three municipalities, Bobonaro, Covalima and Lautem.
Director of Ba Futuru (NGO), Juliana Marçal said that this program targets youth aged 15 to 25 of the organization to improve youth skills in Peace and Democracy, Leadership, Economy Youth and Entrepreneur, Life Skills and Theater.
“With the experience they have gained, they can implement it in their environment, with the hope that they can also contribute to the development in the area being implemented. We provide training for Joven ba Mudansa so that it has an impact on their character,” said Juliana to TATOLI in Comoro, Raikotu, monday.
He explained that from this training, teenagers could also increase their knowledge about how to make their own decisions, and about reproductive health education, Ba Futuru also screened through the Domin Nakloke film which was a message for everyone.
Initially, this program was implemented in Bobonaro and Covalima municipalities from june 2018 to june 2020 with a target of 300 teenagers, but from the results obtained only 120 young people who successfully participated in the training, the participant in each municipality has 60 teenagers.
In 2020, Ba Futuru again implemented the same program in Lautem municipality for five administrative posts, composed of Iliomar, Lautém, Lospalos, Luro, and Tutuala, and the program will be ended in 2025.
“Each post-administrative office is targeted for 60 teenagers and we began in the Post-Administrative office last year. This year we are still faced with a pandemic of covid-19, however this program will continue if the number of affected people is reduced in the country of Timor-Leste,” said Juliana.
