UNICEF-MSSI offer mental health equipment  to NGO  FUTURU

DILI, august 6, 2021 (TATOLI) – The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and the Ministry of Solidarity and Social Inclusion (MSSI) offered the Health Mental Equipment for Futuro NGO to support the works of the NGO in the future.

The materials including 150 bags, sports materials, toys, stationery, and others.

These materials will support the NGO to provide health services to the victims of flood disasters especially the children to prevent and address domestic violence, child abuse, and abandonment.

The UNICEF Representative Emmanuel Collet said, the MSSI and UNICEF work with eight non-governmental organizations and trained 61 volunteers to respond to the solidarity activity in 13 IDP centers, including nine in Dili and four in Hera, Volunteers will manage to cover a thousand children.

“The materials bring greater benefits to children,” Mr. Collet told TATOLI at Comoro, Dili, in his speech today.

“Children feel trauma after disasters. This interrupts the children’s development and in the future, they can be aggressive,” he said.

Collet said MSSI and UNICEF will continue to provide training to health professionals, child protection workers, faith-based organizations, and volunteer workers for social care services on how to provide psycho-social support to children and families.

The Director-General of the Ministry of Solidarity Social and Inclusion, Rui Gago Exposto, thanked the representatives of partners such as UNICEF and the European Union for the support provided to the Government in responding to emergencies situation.

NGO Futuro will continue to cooperate with volunteers to continue the work.
