21 Timorese arrested for illegal transaction activity

DILI, 19 august 2021 (TATOLI)– Commander of The Police Patrol Unite (UPF), Euclides da Costa Belo said 21 Timorese citizens were arrested by the UPF in Aldea Baer, ​​Suco Beseauk, Tilomar, Covalima municipality for the illegal transaction.

“These 21 men were planning to sell 13 horses to people in Malacca-Betuns Indonesia across the Baer river Suai but the plan was failed as they were arrested by UPF from the Bravo team,” Police said in a statement on Thursday (August 19).

Belo added these men were arrested with truck number A. 50728 TLS along with their horses, saying they have been secured at the Suai Police Station.

“While waiting for the further investigation, these men are required to fulfill the mandatory quarantine,” he said.

Belo call on everyone who lives next to the borders to cooperate with the authority and the UPF to prevent the people from doing the illegal transaction at the same time crossing the border illegally.
