DILI, 20 september 2021 (TATOLI) – The Government of Timor-Leste, through the National Institute of Social Security (INSS), had concluded the payment of the senior citizens’ subsidies.
“Around 92,207 elderly people have received the subsidies,” the president of the National Institute of Social Security (INSS), Longuinhos Armando Leite told TATOLI at the INSS office, in Dili, today.
He said around US$16.576.320 had been transferred to the bank as usual for the payment, adding the budget would not cover the complainants.
“If there are complainants then INSS will request an additional budget for these complainants,” said Leite.
Leite added last year, there were complainants and INSS had made the payments with the additional budget request,” he said.
The payment of the senior citizen’s subsidies, totaling US$ 17 million, started from june 23, 2021, to september 17, 2021.
