UNICEF-NZ  donates Brille poster contains information of covid-19 to ADTL

DILI, 30 september (TATOLI)– The United Nation International Emergency’s Fund (UNICEF) and The New Zealand Embassy in Timor Leste today donates integrated Brille Poster to Timor-Leste Asociation of Disability (ADTL), to facilitate the people with vision impairment access to the information about covid-19.

“The Brille Poster from New Zeland Government and UNICEF is donated to ADTL to facilitate the people with vision Impairment to access the information about COVID -19 in Timor- Leste,” Director of Association of Timor Leste Disability (ADTL) Sezario da Silva told reporters in ADTL ‘ s office Mascarinhas today.

Da Silva said, the donation will be handover to the Organization of Vision Impairment in Timor-Leste (AHDMTL), East Timor Blind Union (ETBU), and Cooperative Disabled in Timor-Leste (CDITL) to access the information about covid-19 in Timor-Leste.

Da Silva On behalf of ADTL, ETBU, and CDITL, thanked the UNICEF and New Zealand Embassy for the support.

“I hope that our cooperation will be continued in the future,” said.

Representative of UNICEF to Timor – Leste Bilal Durrani said UNICEF and New Zealand Embassy always support the education program in Timor Leste including People with Disabilities in Timor – Leste to access the information and Education.

“UNICEF has been working with ADTL for a long time, We know the problem faced by ADTL and its members therefore, UNICEF and New Zealand Embassy wishes to provide the poster that contains the message of COVID -19 Vaccine to the ADTL and its members,” said Durrani.

Durrani encouraged all the members of disabilities to use the poster to access the information about covid-19 vaccination and receive the vaccine to prevent themselves from COVID-19 disease. 

In the same place, the Ambassador of New Zealand to Timor Leste Philip Hewitt said the government of New Zealand committed to helping ADTL.

“We wish to work together with ADTL to help Timorese disable to access the information through the brille poster,” said Hewitt.
