Timor-Leste to  withdraw Fiber Optic from Australia to Dili in December

DILI, 01 october 2021 ( TATOLI)- Director-General of the Ministry of Transport and Communication(MTC), Gaspar de Araujo said the Government of Timor Leste through MTC has conducted a tender process for the Fiber Optic mega project.

“MTK has carried out the tender process for the Fiber Optic mega project that will be connected from Australia to Timor – Leste in December 2021,” Araujo told reporters at the Ministry of Finance Office Aitarak Laran, Dili today.

He explained that these project has been announced and currently many international companies are presenting their proposals for these fiber optic project, therefore in the short term, MTK will announce the winner from these fiber optic mega project and starting working on December.

MTK has prepared more than a US$ 40 million budget for the fiber optic project.

The purpose of run the Fiber Optic from Australia to Timor-Leste is to ensure the quality of cheap and fast internet, it is also to facilitate the technology of internet which implemented in the global including Timor-Leste to build a better National development in the future.
