DILI, october 7, 2021 (TATOLI) – Melissa dos Reis takes over the position as the Secretary of State for Social Communication (SECOMS) for one hour, to provide children and young people with leadership experiences.
The Initiative come after Plan international launched the campaign on promoting the girl leaderships.
“I appreciate the opportunity to take over the position as the Secretary of State for Social and Communication at SECOMS for an hour. I wish to promote and develop social communication”, Melisia dos Reis, told Tatoli, at the Government Palace.
Melisia did not hide her pride in assuming these roles and recalls that she has also held the post of ambassador.
The National Director of Promotion for the Development of Local Media, José da Costa, considers this program is an important program of the PITL.
“Children can get to know the work carried out in the area of social communication in Timor-Leste”, he said.
The representative of Plan Internacional in Timor-Leste, Antonieta Maia, also said that the initiative is to allow the children and young people to gain new experiences in the areas of leadership and decision-making.
