DILI, 16 october 2021 (TATOLI) – In the past 24 hours, Timor-Leste recorded only seven new COVID-19 cases, six recoveries, and the active cases are 99, said Rui Maria de Araujo, the Coordinator of the Integrated Crisis Management Center (SIJK).
According to today’s figure, all of the new cases were detected in Dili, with 71 percent were symptomatic.
Araujo said 43 percent of the new case had been fully vaccinated. These seven new cases include four men and three women.
Five of the new cases were between the ages of 12 and 59, including two cases under 20.
There are nine people with COVID-19 in hospital and two of those are in critical condition, with a patient on ventilator.
In the past 24 hours, the National Health Laboratory (LNS) has performed142 PCR test, including one via contact tracing, 111 through random screening, six for international travel authorization and 24 in quarantines.
The SIJK kept calling on communities to practice the health and safety guidelines recommended by the Ministry of Health (MoH) and the WHO to continue combating the spread of the virus.
Since Timor-Leste’s outbreak began in April 2020, the country has recorded 19.714 cases, 19.496 recoveries, and 119 deaths.
In Timor-Leste, of the 754.864 eligible groups, 67.5 percent had received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, of which 43.2 percent have been fully vaccinated.
