UNFPA- MoH facilitates SHR training to the  partners

DILI, 19 october 2021 ( TATOLI) – Assistance Representative of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Domingas Bernardo said UNFPA and the Ministry of Health (MoH) facilitated training for Sexual and Reproductive Health ( SRH) to its partners intending to provide minimum services for reproductive health during the pandemic.

“UNFPA and MoH work together to facilitate training to partners who have been working in the field of SRH intending to provide the service to the pregnant women and health reproductive in the emergency period,” Domingas Bernardo commented on the ceremony at Timor-Plaza Dili today.

According to Domingas Bernardo, many pregnant women have been encountered difficulties access to health services.
“We have to prepare the care services for them at a time of emergency when Timor Leste is facing a natural disaster, like April 4 flood,” she said.

She said for its part, the assistance package for maternity pregnant women, a dignity kit for reproductive women, and a mobile clinic should be prepared.

Therefore, the purpose of this training is to transform preparations and strategies for partners to obtain accurate information in serving reproductive women and pregnant women during emergencies.

At the same place, the Head of the Department of Infantil Health Maternity, Agusta Amaral from MoH said, this training is very important because with this training partners will have sufficient knowledge to serve pregnant women and reproductive women efficiently.

“MoH thanked the UNFPA for taking the initiative to conduct this training for our partners, under this training they will know good strategies to serve pregnant women and reproductive women in emergencies quickly and accurately,” she said.

During the training, partners will determine an action plan together with UNFPA and MoH and in the future, they will conduct a data survey of pregnant women and reproductive women early to receive assistance, both material packages, and medical services quickly during an emergency.

The training participants consisted of 25 people from Reproductive Health Organizations such as Hiam Health, Alola Foundation, Ministry of Health, and also from UNFPA.

The training with the theme of Minimum Service to Reproductive Health, with the duration of four days, started from 19 – 22, October.
