DILI, 08 november 2021 ( TATOLI) – Timor-Leste’s new envoys to Belgium, Thailand, and Mozambique have met the President of the Republic, Francisco Guterres Lu Olo before leaving the country for their missions abroad.
The New Ambassadors are Jorge Trindade Camoes who was assigned as ambassador to Belgium, Juvencio de Jesus Martins to Thailand, and the Ambassador of Timor-Leste to Mozambique, Francisco Miranda Branco.
The Ambassador of Timor – Leste to Mozambique, Francisco Miranda Branco, said that the meeting with the President of the Republic was to hear messages and instructions before leaving the country.
“We met with the President of the Republic to receive messages and advice before carrying out state duties abroad because we represent our country and must set high the dignity of our country,” Branco told reporters at the President’s office, Aitarak-Laran, Dili today.
Branco informed that he would focus on East Timorese students in Mocambique and at the same time conduct a comparative study to find out what national development in Mocambique will be implemented in Timor-Leste in the future.
Meanwhile, the Ambassador of Timor – Leste to Thailand, Juvencio de Jesus Martins said, he will prioritize education programs because many Timorese continue their studies in Thailand.
“I will establish effective cooperation with the Thai Government to increase the volume of students from Timor-Leste to study in Thailand, besides that tourism programs will also be promoted in Thailand because Thailand is a country engaged in tourism and will maintain good cooperation with the Thailand government to invest in tourism areas in Timor – Leste,”
The Ambassadors to Belgium and Mocambique will travel on November 15 and the Ambassador to Thailand will travel to Thailand on November 26.
