DILI 24 november 2021 (TATOLI)- The Ambassador of Portugal to Timor-Leste, Pedro Machado Vieira signed a financial agreement with the President for the Council of Administration from Center of Quesadhip Ruak, Leonildo Tomas da Costa to run the program of Gastronomy Cultural Assets, Nutritional Food Education, and Sustainable Agriculture.
The total fund donate is USD 21,800 following the EU project of PROCULTUREA PALOP-TL.

Speaking at the agreement ceremony, The Ambassador of the European Union, Andrew Jacob said that the EU believes that culture has power and as the bridge between people to strengthens the relationship between each other also as a social growth through the creation of adequate employment opportunities.
“For such reason, we have developed several programs to support the cultural and agriculture areas in Timor – Leste. PRO-CULTURAL will contribute the concrete realization of PRO-CULTURA’s vision,” Andrew Jacobs told the media at the Portuguese Embassy Dili today.
The Ambassador of Portugal to Timor-Leste, José Pedro Machado Vieira said the project will greatly contribute to strengthening active citizens and identities with social and educational values.
“We greatly appreciate this project,” said Machado.
At the same Place, the founder of Quesadhip Ruak, Isabel Fereira thanked the EU for the donation of $ USD 21,800 through the Portugal Embassy in Timor – Leste to support Timor – Leste’s youth in strengthening the agriculture and culinary to develop the traditional food in Timor – Leste.

“We wishes to develop the skills of young Timorese in the area of gastronomy, combining ancestors with traditional and local, tasty, healthy and nutritious recipes, using agricultural ingredients that the Foundation has grown in its fields and educating them about nutritious food health and sustainable agriculture, based on the country’s ancestral gastronomic culture,” said Fereira.
The Center of Quesadhip Ruak has an important role in this project related to the gastronomy cultural assets, food education, nutrition, and sustainable agriculture in Timor-Leste.
Fereira explained that this fund will be used to buy the equipment for culinary and agriculture.
Participants who will participate in the culinary and agriculture training consist of 25 persons across municipalities. Of the number 20 participants will join the traditional culinary training and the other 5 participants will take part in the agricultural sustainable training which will be starting in February 2022 with the duration of one year.
