DÍLI, 25 november 2021 (TATOLI) – The Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sports (MoEYS) have already executed 87% of its 2021 General State Budget (GSB), out of the allocated budget of US$106.341.251.
“As of november 23, the execution of the US$106.341.251 has already reached 87%, equivalent to about $90 million,” said MoEYS’ Director-General of Administration and Finance, Antoninho Pires, in Vila Verde, Dili, on thursday.
This budget had been spent in five priority areas – teacher training, salaries and wages, curriculum, administration and finance, and public transfers.
He said that MoEYS still has a budget of US$13.3 million, or 12.5% left to be executed.
MoEYS had foreseen US$81.708.623 for its 2022 General State Budget, including $963.188 to be allocated for the National Institute for Teacher and Education Professional Training (INFORDEPE).
Most of MoEYS’ 2021 GSB had been spent on salaries and wages, as well as funding three priority programs, 20 sub-programs, and 78 activities.
In 2020, MoEYS allocated an amount of US$59.3 million for salaries and wages, US$7.6 million for goods and services, US$283.500 for minor capital, and US$1.09 million for public transfers.
On the other hand, the execution of the 2021 General State Budget had reached 62.5% of the total US$2.1 billion allocated budget.
Of the US$2.1 billion, a total of US$229.7 million was allocated for salaries and wages (the original allocation was US$239.2 million), US$613 million for goods and services (original allocation was US$421.49 million), US$696.7 million for public transfers (original allocation was US$669.91 million), US$55.1 million for minor capital (original allocation was US$61.14 million), and US$338.1 million for capital development (original allocation was US$503.20 million).
