DILI, 12 may, 2022 (TATOLI) – The Minister of State Administration (MSA), Miguel de Carvalho today informed that, in line with the preparation for the Timor-Leste Independence day Anniversary and Presidential Inauguration Ceremony, the leaders from five countries were confirmed to participate in both events held on may 19 and 20, 2022.
“The five country’s leaders are The President of Portugal, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, the Prime Minister of Guinea-Bissau, Nuno Gomes Nabiam, the Cambodian Head of Government, Hun Sen, the Governor-General of Australia, David Hurley, and a Minister of New Zealand”, Miguel de Carvalho the president of the organizing committee, told Tatoli at Tasi Tolu Dili.
Miguel de Carvalho added that the organizing committee has sent more than two hundred official invitations to the Heads of State and Government, including other international personalities.
According to the organizing committee, the official ceremony will begin on May 18, starting with a thanksgiving mass at the Dili Cathedral at 9 am.
The next day, at 19:00 there will be prepared for the inauguration ceremony of the new head of state is scheduled for 21:00.
