DILI, 18 may 2022 (TATOLI) – The special guests from Japan, Singapore, and Sierra Leone arrived in Timor-Leste to attend the Presidential Inauguration Ceremony and 20th Anniversary of the Restoration Independence Day.
At the Nicolau Lobato International Airport, Mohd Maliki Osman, the Singaporean Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office, the Second Minister for Education, and the Second Minister for Foreign Affairs, and Education of the Republic of Singapore and his team were welcomed by the Minister of Education, Youth and Sports (MEJD), Armindo Maia.
Meanwhile, the Japanese Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, MIYAKE Shingo, and his team were received by the Japanese Ambassador to Timor-Leste, KINEFUCHI Masami.
In addition, the Minister of Planning and Economic Development of Sierra Leone, Francis Mustapha Kai‐Kai, accompanied by Abie Elizabeth Kamara, the Deputy Director, Development Assistance Coordinator Office of Ministry of Finance and Economic Development were welcomed by the General Secretary of the g7+ Secretariat in Dili, Helder da Costa.
They arrived at the Nicolau Lobato International Airport, at around 11.20 am local time on the Indonesian Citilink passenger carrier.
After their arrival, Singaporean Minister Mohd Maliki Osman was set to meet the newly elected President of Timor-Leste, Jose Ramos Horta, at 2.30.
The Presidential Inauguration Ceremony would take place in Tasi-Tolu, in Dili, on may 19. While the commemoration of the 20th anniversary of the nation’s restoration independence day was set to take place at the Presidential Palace, on may 20.
