Fact-Finding Mission of ASCC Delegation from Cambodia visits TVS Dili

DILI, 05 july 2022 (TATOLI) – The delegation of the Fact-Finding Mission Association of Southeast Asia Nation (ASEAN), Social-Cultural Community (ASCC) from Cambodia today held a meeting with the Teachers from Technical Vocational School (VTS) to discuss the cooperation that will be realized in the field of technical education.

The Director of VTS Becora, Francisco Guterres, said that the meeting was held to share experiences and also invite the VTS to join the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO), in developing a Vocational Technical School in Timor – Leste.

“The ASCC Delegation’s Fact-Finding Mission visit to TVS to share experiences and invite VTS to join SEAMEO in developing VTS in the technical field in Timor-Leste, since VTS is one of the Referral Schools for all vocational schools in Timor-Leste ” Guterres, told TATOLI after meeting with the ASCC Fact-Finding Mission Delegation at VTS, Becora Dili, Tuesday.

Guterres added that during the meeting the school also showed its commitment to cooperate with SEAMEO through the Ministry of Education of Timor Leste to participate in comparative studies and technical training at SEAMEO which aims to improve teacher knowledge to develop Timor-Leste’s TVs in the future.

“We told the delegation that, currently we do not have industrialization, therefore we wish to establish good relationships in developing teacher capacity by conducting comparative studies and technical training at SEAMEO to adapt to the future ASCC industrialization,” he said.

According to Guterres, the request from TVS had a positive response from the ASEAN delegation, saying all the requests would be discussed at the SEAMEO level meeting in Cambodia to be considered.

At the same time, the ASCC delegation also visited IT, Electrical, Electronics, Automotive, and Civil Engineering practical activities at school.

The ASCC Fact-Finding Mission from Cambodia led by H.E. DR. DY KHAMBOLY, Deputy Director-General of Policy and Planning, MR. MIN CHANDINAVUTH, and DR. SOK PRASHIT, both are Chairs of the Cambodian Sectoral Bodies.
