R4D-SP hands over IT Equipment and Office Furniture to MOP

DILI, 22 july 2022 (TATOLI) – The R4D-SP handed over IT Equipment and Office Furniture to the Ministry of Public Works (MoP).

The IT Equipment included 48 computers, 48 mouses, 11 printers A3, and 11 routers. Meanwhile, the office furniture is comprised of 4 office desks, 4 office chairs, 4 visitor chairs, 1 bookcase, 1 steel cabinet, and 1 whiteboard.

The R4D-SP will also support MOP with the internet setup training and internet Wi-Fi setup for MoP’s staff in the municipalities.

“The IT equipment and Office Furniture will be distributed to MoP’s Municipal Monitoring Staff, MoP’s Laboratory Technicians, and MoP’s Community Development Staff,” Nivio Magalhães, Deputy Team Leader of R4D-SP Bridging Phase said during the handover ceremony at the JL Villa Hall, in Dili, today.

He said IT equipment and office furniture are now part of the State’s assets, saying therefore the equipment will be under the control of the National Directorate of Administration and Asset Management.

Magalhães said the IT equipment and Office Furniture cost around US$ 100.000, financed by the Government of Australia.

Echoing Magalhães’s statement, the Director General of MoP, Rui Guterres called on the officials who will receive the equipment to use them rightly for the common good.

“It’s important that we need to ensure the sustainability of this equipment. So, we will allocate some budget for the maintenance of this equipment,” he said.

Guterres thanked RAD-SP for the support, saying the provision of the IT equipment and Office Furniture will support MoP’s work, especially in the municipalities.

At the same place, the National Director of Research and Development (NDRD), Saturnino Gomes said the IT equipment will definitely support the research and inspection work of the NDRD to ensure the quality of construction work in Timor-Leste.
