DILI, 24 october 2022 (TATOLI)- Interim Director of Visual Impairment of Timor – Leste, (AHDMTL) Gabriel de Sousa, said last week that AHDMTL had received a donation of US$ 5000 from the Humanist Institute for Development Cooperation (HIVOS) an organization based in the Netherlands.
“AHMDTL has received a $5000 donation from HIVOS to support the computer course and Portuguese language training program at AHDMTL,” said the Interim Director of AHDMTL Gabriel de Sousa, in his office in Manleuna, Dili.
Sousa, said, the support was provided following the proposal, where the funds will be used to support the capacity-building program and payment for 2 Portuguese language trainers and 2 computer trainers for 6 months.
“We have 31 AHDMTL members who are attending the Portuguese course and Computer course both courses have been started on 15 of october and will finish on 15 of April 2023,”
At the same time, Sousa thanked the HIVOS for the support that help AHDMTL realize its plan: “This capacity building program was realized because of the financial support from HIVOS, therefore on behalf of AHDMTL, I thanked the HIVOS, on its assistance, hopes that this financial support will be continued to spread this program to another eye disabled who have not had the opportunity to get the same opportunity to contribute to the national development process in Timor – Leste,” he concluded.
Humanist Institute for Development Cooperation (HIVOS) is an international cooperation organization, with its global office in The Hague, The Netherlands. Hivos provides support to civil society organizations working in Africa, Latin America, the Middle East, and Asia.
