DILI, 24 october 2022 (TATOLI)-Heineken Beer Company and the Timor-Leste National Police (PNTL) organized a workshop for university students themed “Drinking responsibly”.

Heineken’s Director of Public Relations, Filomena Filipe, said that Heneiken has three important programs, including Environmental, Social and Responsibility.

“So this is a responsibility program workshop implemented by Heneiken to share information regarding responsible alcohol consumption policy,” said Director of Public Relations of Heineken, Filomena Filipe, to reporters at Timor Lodge Comoro, this Friday.

Filipe said since this activity is part of a responsibility program, the main purpose is to provide information to students aged 18 years and over about responsible drinking.

“In the implementation of this program, Heineken cooperates with the National Police of Timor-Leste (PNTL) to educate students about being responsible drinkers, meaning that those who consume alcohol, especially young people, must understand the policy. All beer produced by Heineken has its policy, adding that consumers who are livable must be 18 years old,” he said.

He also said that this workshop helps students to understand the rules of consuming beer because students can share information with their families and communities regarding the rules of beer consumption which say that it is most important for everyone.

In the same place, Department of Traffic Safety and Radiology, Assistant Inspector, Albino Mauzino said the PNTL was also involved in this workshop to inform all young people about this information.

“We intend to remind 18-year-old students not to drink too much alcohol. especially when they are driving we also tell students to avoid using their cell phones while driving, because it has written in Timor-Leste’s traffic law number 6/2003, prohibits people to consume alcohol while driving transportation on public roads,” he explained

So far, the PNTL data shows from january to september, 90% of traffic accidents have resulted in a total of 1,282, 1,301 injured 258 were seriously injured and 68 were fatalities.
