DILI, 16 december 2022 (TATOLI) – Aero Dili will launch its first international commercial flights in january 2023.
“The international destinations for Aero Dili flights are Singapore, Australia, and Malaysia,” Aero Dili Executive Director, Lourenço de Oliveira told reporters at the Presidential Palace.
The official launch ceremony will be attended by the President of the Republic, José Ramos Horta.
“Today, I came here to invite President Horta to attend the launch ceremony of the Aero Dili International Flights, which will take place in january, next year,” Oliveira said.
During the meeting, Oliveira briefed the Head of State on preparations for the start of Aero Dili’s international flights: “President Horta was pleased with the existence of Aero Dili commercial aircraft flying the flag of Timor-Leste with destinations such as Singapore, Australia, and Indonesia.”
Horta asked the Government to subsidize Dili Air for its success: “I will inform my protocol that when I travel abroad, I want to book and travel by Aero Dili.”
Aero Dili commercial aircraft is being inspected in Malaysia in preparation for its international flights next year.
Oliveira had recently said that the leased A320 model has the capacity to carry up to 180 passengers.
