DILI, 07 march 2023 (TATOLI)- The Government of Japan together with its Embassy in Timor – Leste, through the Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP) today grants $ 332,865.00 to the four organizations to construct the school building and the Capacity Building Center in Timor-Leste.
The grand was provided through a signing of an agreement between the Ambassador of Japan to Timor-Leste, KIMURA Tetsuya, and the Representative of the Four Training Center,
“The Government of Japan through GGP had selected four organizations such as; the Association of Visual Impairment of Timor – Leste (AHDMTL), Foundation LEO BALU, Franciscan Missionaries of Nossa Senhora, Foundation of Cocoa Rai Laco, to develop capacity building through the Education in Timor – Leste,’’ the Ambassador of Japan, KIMURA Tetsuya told reporters at his office Pantai Kelapa, Dili.
The Ambassador of Japan KIMUURA Tetsuya, added the purpose of the “Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP)” first aims to better ensure “human security” through implementing the projects for the empowerment of people and communities and address basic human needs in such fields as health, basic education, water supply, poverty alleviation, and any other fields related to basic human needs.
At the same place the Vice Minister of Social Solidarity and Inclusion (MSSI), Signi Chandrawati Verdial, appreciated the Government of Japan through its Embassy in Timor – Leste has a strong commitment to implementing the GGP in Timor – Leste.
“ Japan has a strong commitment to supporting Timor – Leste through the GGP and there are many Nongovernmental Organizations including the organization of Disability had benefitted GGP to ensure the fundamental needs of People with Disability in Timor – Leste,’’ She said.
They will be used by the four training centers to construct the new construction of school building, chairs and tables of the school, and the Center of Capacity Building.
From the total grant amount, AHDMTL receives $ 92,592.00 to construct the center of Capacity Building for Brille letter, Japan language courses, Portuguese course, English course, computer course, and others, The Foundation of FMNS receives $ 0ver 92,000 and will be used to buy the school facility, Foundation of Cocoa Rai Laco, (AFDR) receives $ 92,559.00 to construct one the Basic School building in Railaco – Ermera and the Foundation of Leobalu receives $ 92,403.00 to construct the Basic School of Nossa Senhora Aitara, in Manlala- Manatuto.
Hopefully, the grant mention will be used based on the timeline project during 6 months to benefit the Timorese people in the area of education and capacity building to ensure their well-being to contribute to the development of Timor – Leste in the future.
