Dili 20 march 2023 (TATOLI)- President of the Republic of Timor-Leste together with the Minister of Transportation and Communication officially launched AERO DILI A-320 TIMOR-LESTE airbus for its international travel.
Timor Leste President of Republic, José Ramos Horta said Timor Leste must be proud to have a Timorese potential entrepreneur, who can invest in the sector of Air transportation.
“This investment is needed by a business person that has the commitment, courage, patients, and financial capacity. Timor – Leste has a great potential entrepreneur from Atauru Island, namely Lorenzo De Oliveira and we must be proud of him to bring the Aero DILI Airbus A-320 to Timor-Leste Airport today,” The President of the Republic of Timor-Leste, José Ramos Horta said in his remarks at the Nicolau Lobato International Airport today.
Horta recalled that this business was composed of running a business of investing in sea transportation and today it is a great achievement to launch the first Travel International AERO Dili A-320 Timor-Leste.
Timor-Leste Minister of Transportation and communication, José Agostinho Da Silva, said this was a great success for Timor-Leste to invest in International transportation connectivity.
“We recognized that it is taking a long process as the government of Timor Leste has fulfilled some criteria from International Aviation Authority Organization (ICAO) to ensure Timor-Leste can own an Air Bush plane, “He explained
Silva said that the government of Timor-Leste is working on an effort to approve the implementation of the Air Service Agreement (ASA) with the regular flight in Timor-Leste and helping to reduce ticket prices.
Meanwhile, The president of AERO DILI A-320, Lourensu De Oliveira said it takes 16 months of the process to bring this airbus to Timor-Leste.
“I have had a dream for the last five years to invest in Airbus in Timor-Leste. We can realize it by officially launching AERO DILI Airbus A-320,’’ He said
It is known that the AERO DILI Airbus A-320 has the capacity to bring 162 passengers and a total of 12 crews.
This Airbus will have a regular route to Indonesia every day, however, the airbus also will travel to Australia, Malaysia, Singapore, China, and others.
“The flight will start the official operation on 28 of March 2023 from Timor-Leste to Indonesia,’’ He concluded
