DILI, 25 may 2023 (TATOLI)- Telin Timor-Leste (TELKOMCEL) and ZTE Corporation signed an agreement to collaborate in modernizing Mobile Network Operator (MNO) Virtual Core, Business Support Systems (BSS), Value Added Services (VAS) Solution Telkomcel to improving internet quality in Timor-Leste.
The agreement was signed by Benedictus Ardiyanto Priyo, Chief Executive Officer of Telkomcel; Dedy Edward Ambarita, Vice President of Finance Business Partner Telkomcel; Wu Wwi, Commercial Director of ZTE Corporation, and Richard Liang, Executive Director of ZTE.
“The main objective of the agreement is to modernize Telkomcel’s MNO Virtual Core, BSS, VAS Solution with estimated data that will end in the 4th quarter (October 1 – December 31) 2023,” said a read the statement.
This agreement adopts the Cost of Ownership development price at a unit price which will be applied for the next five years.
“Modernization of the MNO Virtual Core, BSS, and VAS Solution, will present the latest technologies including upgrading the 5G network and provide benefits to the people of Timor-Leste,” the statement said.
In addition, this modernization will also improve network performance and consumer experience, especially in retail and corporate, government, institutions, and other private sectors.
The existence of this agreement is able to fulfill higher needs such as quality Voice and Data services which enable Telkomcel to provide good services for clients.
The MoU between the two companies Telkomcel and ZTE allows the exchange of 90% experience between regular staff and 70% from the management level. With this collaboration, Telkomcel wants to bring digital innovation and transformation to Timor-Leste.
Telkomcel is a cellular telecommunication operator company in Timor Leste which is held by Telkom Indonesia International SA (Telin) Timor Leste, which is a subsidiary of Telkom Indonesia. The company has three main business areas: mobile services, enterprise solutions, and wholesale and international services.
ZTE Corporation is a telecommunications technology company partially owned by the Chinese government. Founded in 1985, ZTE is now listed on the Hong Kong and Shenzhen Stock Exchanges.
ZTE operates a network of carriers, terminals, and telecommunications. ZTE’s core businesses are wireless, telephone exchange, optical transmission, data telecommunications equipment, telecommunications software, and cellular telephones.
