Timor-Leste Post Office collects US$27,000 for the State Treasury

DILI, 08 februry 2024 (TATOLI) – Last year, Timor-Leste’s Post Office collected US$27,000 for the State Treasury through postal services.

The director of Timor-Leste Post Office, Juliana do Rego Ximenes, said the US$27,000 was collected from the postal services including the delivery of mail (letters, diplomas, and confidential documents) and packages.

“Of the US$27,000, US$2,513 were collected in january, US$4,896 in february, US$5,146 in march, US$3,146 in april, US$1,341 in may, US$1,318 in june, US$988 in july, US$1,407 in august, US$2,630 in september, US$1,163 in october, US$1,522 in november and US$1,275 in december,” reported Ximenes.

The Prime Minister, Kay Rala Xanana Gusmão, inaugurated, on the 8th of june 2010, the Timor-Leste Post Office Central Headquarters at Quintal Qui’ik.

It was the South Korean Government, through its International Cooperation Agency, that financed the building construction, which cost US$2 million.
