DILI, 29 february 2024 (TATOLI) – On monday (26/02), Telemor’s CEO, Tran Van Bang, attended the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024 in Barcelona, Spain, from february 26th to march 2nd. The focus of his participation was on exploring and acquiring the latest technological advancements to upgrade the network in Timor-Leste.
Tran Van Bang’s presence at MWC underscores Telemor’s dedication to bringing cutting-edge solutions to Timor-Leste.
Bang was expected to engage with leading technology companies and industry experts to explore various key areas such as Digital Maps for Planning and Design, Smart Sustainable City, Empowering Digital Citizens, and Enhancing Education.
He explained that in regard to the Digital Maps for Planning and Design, Telemor sought partnerships or solutions for developing comprehensive digital maps of Timor-Leste: “This would be crucial for infrastructure development, urban planning, and disaster management efforts in the country.”
When it comes to Smart Sustainable City, Bang said that Telemor explored the potential of smart city technologies like; Traffic Monitoring & Operating System Public Security M&O Systems, Emergency Response Portal, and Data Analysis System: “These advancements hold the potential to improve efficiency, sustainability, and overall quality of life in Timorese cities.”
“In relation to the Empowering Digital Citizens, Telemor equips citizens with the necessary applications such as Kakoak, TV Timor, Cinema.tl, to facilitate and navigate Timorese people to access more for the digital world,” Bang said in a statement.
In addition, speaking about Enhancing Education, Bang stressed that: “Telemor has Tfun, an application that helps Timorese people to learn independently and improve themselves. This can involve exploring educational platforms, e-learning resources, and innovative teaching methods.”
Telemor’s participation in MWC 2024 signifies the company’s commitment to playing a pivotal role in Timor-Leste’s digital transformation journey.
