DILI, 01 march 2024 (TATOLI) – The National Environmental Licensing Authority, I.P. (ANLA), on friday, awarded environmental permits and licenses to 11 companies, including category A licenses for major construction and category B licenses for infrastructure investments.

The President of ANLA, António Lelo Taci, said that the category A environmental license was awarded to the Marina Square company, which is going to build a five-star hotel.

He said that the environmental license has a validity period of up to two years, saying the company would have to renew it if the project is still underway.

Marina Square’s environmental consultant, João Soares, said that “the company is committed to carrying out the work in accordance with the conditions and assessments determined by ANLA’s technical team: “We guarantee that our work will have no negative impact on public health.”

According to Soares, his company will prioritize drilling into the ground to collect water, since the project requires sufficient reserves of water resources.

The Head of the Planning Department of the Ministry of Public Works, Lourenço Luís, pointed out that other environmental licenses had been awarded to projects under the responsibility of the Ministry of Public Works.

Since 2019, ANLA has awarded environmental licenses to over 890 companies.
