DILI, 07 march 2024 (TATOLI) – The government will make US$2 million available for the purchase of two passport printers.
The decision was taken after the Minister of Justice, Sérgio Hornai, expressed his concern in the meeting of the Council of Ministers that only one of the two existing passport printers was working.
“There are two passport printer machines at the General Directorate of Registry and Notary Services, but only one is working because the other is broken. That’s why I raised my concerns at a meeting of the Council of Ministers and the government authorized the purchase of two new machines,” he told reporters in Colmera, Dili.
To this end, the Ministry of Justice carried out a direct procurement procedure with Thales for the purchase of 150,000 passport booklets and two passport printers.
