Indonesian Embassy in Dili launches ePassport

DILI, 17 august 2024 (TATOLI) – On the occasion of the celebration of Indonesia’s 79th anniversary of the Independence Day, the Indonesian Embassy in Dili launch ePassport.  

The launching ceremony for the new technologically-advanced travel document was held at the Indonesain Embassy in Dili with many Indonesian citizens living in Timor-Leste welcoming the ePassport system.

The Indonesian Ambassador to Timor-Leste, Okto Dorinus Manik, highlighted that the new ePassport system will facilitate migration and border services.

“We are committed to continuing to provide the best service to our citizens in Timor-Leste and that is why, as of monday, they will be able to apply for the ePassport at the Indonesian Embassy in Dili,” said the diplomat in Dili.

Manik recalled that Indonesian e-passports are also available in U.S., Germany, South Korea, Denmark, the Netherlands, Japan, and Singapore.

More than 10,000 Indonesian citizens are currently living in Timor-Leste, according to the Indonesian Embassy in Dili.
