DILI, 22 august 2024 (TATOLI) – National Institute of Statistics Timor-Leste (NIS-TL) revealed that the data collected last july in the country when compared to the previous month, indicate that the country registered deflation of around 0,1%, compared to a fall of 0.1% in june 2024.
The significant fall of the Food and Non Alcoholic Beverages (-0.2%), and Transports (-0.4%). The largest offsetting movement came from Alcohol and Tobacco (+0.2%) and Recreation and Culture (+0.2%) groups.
The largest upward contributions to the change in the one month CPI rate (-0.1%) between july 2024 and june 2024, came from:
Food and non-alcoholic beverages (-0.2%): which was significantly driven by Vegetables (-0.5%), Rice (-0.2%), Sugar, Jam, Honey, Chocolate and Confectionery (-0.6%), Mineral Water, Soft drinks, Fruit and Vegetable Juices (-2.3%) and Fruits (-0.1%) sub groups. The largest offsetting movement came from Meat (+0.5%), Milk, Cheese and Eggs (+0.2%) and Oil and Fats (+0.2%) sub groups.
Transports (-0.4%): was driven by Operation of Personal Transports Equipment (-0.9%) sub group.
In the other part, the largest offsetting movement came from:
Alcohol and Tobacco (+0.2%): was driven by Tobacco (+0.4%) sub group.
Recreation and Culture (+0.2): was driven by Audio-Visual, Photographic and Information Processing Equipment (+1.9%).
