DILI, 13 december 2024 (TATOLI) – On wednesday, Elon Musk posted on X that Starlink’s high-speed internet is now available in Timor-Leste.
The announcement came after Musk’s Starlink was granted a license by Timor-Leste’s National Communications Authority (NCA-TL) to operate in the country.
“Starlink’s high-speed internet is now available in Timor-Leste, marking the 116th country, territory or market around the world where service is available,” Musk posted on X on wednesday.
On december 5, 2024, NCA-TL officially granted Starlink a license to provide high-speed internet access in Timor-Leste.
The presence of Starlink’s operation will enhance internet connectivity between Timor-Leste and the Southeast Asia region and the world.
The Spokesperson of the Government of Timor-Leste, Agio Pereira said that Starlink will make it possible to bring high-speed internet access to the remote regions in the country.
