DILI, 13 december 2024 TATOLI) – Investment and Export Promotion Agency, I.P (Tradeinvest Timor-Leste) organized the 4th Export Award and awarded the prize to the winning companies of the TradeInvest Export Award 2024.
Based on Decree Law Number 58/2022, the Tradeinvest Timor-Leste through the Directorate of Export Promotion has promoted, monitored and facilitated exporters’ products in the domestic and regional markets.
In addition, Tradeinvest Timor-Leste also has a plan to hold an annual Export Award with the objective of promoting exporters to compete in the market and further motivate exporters’ business plans on export products in the market.
With the objective of promoting national exporters, Tradeinvest Timor-Leste applies export awards with three (3) categories, namely, the first category for Exceptional Exporters, Potential Exporters and Start-up Business.
During the process, TradeInvest Timor-Leste has opened and received total of 16 national companies and they have competed and the panelists made a rigorous selection to select 12 national companies that passed the interview and field visit phase.
In the final phase, the company that meets the criteria to become the winner of the 2024 Export Award for the category of Exceptional Exporter with total cash prize of USD$2,000.00 was Madarlin Unip, Lda from Municipality of Covalima which has been exporting candlenut, tamarind, Kutu-Lak (Laccifer lacca Kerr) to Indonesia, won the Category Potential exporter with total cash prize of USD$2,000.00 was Prative Trading Lda from Municipality of Ermera which has been operating in the coffee sector and the winner of the start-up business category with total price of USD$2,000.00 was Arabeirustik 02 Unip. Lda from the Municipality of Dili which has been engaged in handicrafts industry.
During the award, Executive Director of TradeInvest Timor-Leste Eng. Arcanjo da Silva, said the award has to provide some incentives and benefits that aim to motivate more producers to compete in the national and international market.
“This award went through a long process with its credibility to award the winner, because to stimulate future exporters, our existing exporters and those who have just started business to export their products,” said Executive Director TradeInvest Timor -Leste.
The awarding ceremony was opened by the H.E. Minister of Transport and Telecommunication, Mr. Miguel Manetelu who was also the acting of the Minister Coordinator for Economic Affairs as the supervision body of TradeInvest Timor-Leste, which was also attended by the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI-TL), Mr. Jorge Manuel Serrano includes the diplomatic corps and development partners in Timor-Leste.
The jury panel for the Export Award 2024 was composed of relevant line ministries and development partners such as the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, Quarantine, Customs Authority, IADE, CCI-TL, MDF and it led by SERVE I.P.
