DILI, 03 february 2025 (TATOLI) – The President of the Republic, Jose Ramos Horta has arrived in UAE’s capital Abu Dhabi, to attend Human Fraternity Summit.
The Head of State was received by the UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs’ Envoy for the Caribbean and Pacific States, Omar Shehadeh.
“President Horta’s visit marks his participation in the prestigious 2025 Zayed Award for Human Fraternity Summit, an important global platform dedicated to promoting peace and intercultural understanding,” said in a statement.
The Zayed Award for Human Fraternity, an esteemed annual international recognition, celebrates individuals and organizations who demonstrate exceptional commitment to fostering unity and building bridges between communities.
The award acknowledges those who work tirelessly to promote human connections and understanding, often in the face of significant challenges.
In recognition of his lifelong dedication to peace and human rights, President Horta has been honored with an invitation to deliver the opening remarks at the Human Fraternity Majlis. His address at this distinguished gathering underscores the importance of international dialogue and cooperation in building a more harmonious global community.
The United Nations General Assembly proclaimed 4 February as the International Day of Human Fraternity, with resolution 75/200.
