DILI, 02 April 2025 (TATOLI) – The Council of Ministers has approved the draft Government Resolution on the Voluntary Contribution of US$ 500,000 to the ASEAN Coordinating Centre for Humanitarian Assistance (AHA Center) to support the response to the emergency in Myanmar caused by the recent earthquakes.
The resolution was presented by the Vice Minister for ASEAN Affairs, Milena Maria da Costa Rangel.
The 7.7 magnitude earthquake hit Myanmar on March 28, 2025, causing serious consequences, including human loss, population displacement, and destruction of social, economic, and environmental infrastructure.
The earthquake was the strongest to hit Myanmar, causing serious destruction and leaving many people in need of aid.
As of Wednesday, Xinhua reports that the Myanmar earthquake has killed more than 2,800 people, and the death toll is expected to rise, while thousands more are injured and many are still missing.
