DILI, 29 december 2025 (TATOLI) – The departure terminal at Presidente Nicolau Lobato International Airport (AIPNL) in Dili is scheduled to begin operations in January 2026, the Timor-Leste Air Navigation Administration (ANA-TL) has announced.
ANATL Board Chairman Romualdo António Soares da Silva stated that the upgraded departure terminal, part of a joint project with the arrivals terminal, will be fully operational for the public starting January 1, 2026.
“Passengers will be able to use the departure terminal as usual from the start of next year,” Romualdo confirmed.
Visitors to AIPNL will see a more modern and welcoming departure terminal. The interior has been upgraded with neat layouts, brighter lights, and local carved decorations that reflect Timor-Leste’s culture.
Passenger facilities have also been improved, including snack bars, cafes, restaurants, comfortable seating, clear signs, and digital information to make moving around the terminal easier.
The upgrades at AIPNL are part of Timor-Leste’s preparation for an upcoming safety check by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). The improvements aim to make sure the airport meets international standards for safety, service, and efficiency.
