DÍLI, 3 december 2020 (TATOLI) – Timor-Leste will present the three varieties of Coffees in the Expo 2021 Dubai.
According to the Vice President of the Timor Coffee Association (ACT), Afonso de Oliveira, these coffee products have been managed by the Ministry of Tourism, Commerce and Industry (MTCI), such as organic coffee collected from Ermera municipality and Luana Natural Especial Timor collected from Atsabe municipality.
Oliveira said, the types of coffee been strictly selected by the eight coffee experts from Timor-Leste from november last month at Dili Convention Center (CCD).
“We held a competition under the theme ‘Coffee Week ’to choose the best types of Timorese coffee that we intend to promote at the world exhibition in Dubai in 2021.,” Oliveira told Tatoli at his office, Fatuhada Dili.
He added that 89 coffee samples were presented at the CCD during Coffee week event.
“After undergoing a long selection process in a laboratory, the three types of coffee have become the solution to the coffee experts/judges,” Oliveira said.
According to Oliveira, the products must meet the world requirement. First step, when completing the harvests, the coffee must be washed properly to remove the impurities that appear on the surface of coffee.
“After washing, it must be carefully peeled, subsequently passing through the drying phase and, finally, pour the water in the tanks and pour the coffee in the water, the floating beans will be removed,” he explains
