DILI, 11 december, 2020 (TATOLI) – The Ministry of Health Timor-Leste has received the support fund from the Global Fund Coordination Mechanism (CCM) in the amount of $8.3 million to combat tuberculosis disease in Timor-Leste.
Minister of Health, Odete Belo, said the fund will be divided into two, $6 million will be used for the tuberculosis related program and one million will be spending for the management activities, monitoring and researchers.
She added that the program will be implemented immediately after the signing of the support agreement.
“We have to prepare an annual action plan. This budget is not only managed by the Ministry of Health, but also by other entities who are working in the areas of combating the tuberculosis disease,” she said.
At the same time, The CCM President, Filipe da Costa, hopes that the support, the more workers could be recruited to start the activities of combat the tuberculosis disease.
