MoH records 337 cases of dengue one fatality

DILI,20 february 2021 (TATOLI) – The Ministry of Health (MS) recorded, between January 1 and February 20, 337 dengue cases across the country and one fatality.

The Deputy Coordinator of the the Prevention and Mitigation of the COVID-19, Odete Viegas, said that the MS registered in January 183 cases of dengue while in february MoH recorded another 154 cases.

Ms Viegas said there are also additional 204 of dengue cases were registered in the Dili municipality and 56 in Baucau municipality.

Otherwise, 23 cases were recorded from Bobonaro, 13 from Ermera, ten from Manatuto Eight from Manufahi and Covalima and seven in Ainaro as well as four are from Liquiçá Lautém.

“Of those infected number, 170 patients are composed of female and 167 are male,” Ms Viegas said.

Following the record evident from the Ministry of Health, the dengue patients mostly are children between five to 14-year-old which is 37.7%, 30.9% children under five years of age and 18% it has infected patients between age 15 to25.
