DILI, 10 june 2021 (TATOLI) -The Acting Ambassador of the Philippines to Timor-Leste, Laser Sumagaysay said currently over 200 Timorese students are taking their degree in various universities in the Philippines.
“Despite the Philippines is experiencing a covid-19 like other countries, still many students from Timor-Leste living in the Philippines at this time. About 200 more students who are continuing their study in higher education online due to the pandemic ” Ambassador Sumagaysay told Tatoli reporter at the Philippines Embassy.
Ambassador said these students are not scholarship students but scholarships from the catholic church while others are private.
“At the moment the government of the Philippines has no plan to offer the scholarships to Timorese students due to the pandemic but the Philippines Government will offer the scholarships when the pandemic is ended,” he said.
