CIGC organizes meeting with diplomats from five countries

DILI, 11 june, 2021 (TATOL) – The Director of the Center Integrated Management of Crises (CIGC), Brigadier General, Joao Miranda Aluk held a meeting with Ambassadors from The United State, Kevin Blackstone, European Union Ambassador, Jacob Andrew, Ambassador of New Zealand, Philip Hewitt, Ambassador Republic japan, KINEFUCHI Masami and Korea Ambassador, Kim Jeong Ho to discuss further humanitarian assistance for the victims of natural disaster and covid-19.

“Timor-Leste is required for economic recovery since many Timorese people have been suffering due to less income during pandemic situations and cannot contribute to economic recovery, “The Brigadier General, Joao Miranda Aluk said to Tatoli Agency at CIMC’s room, at Caikoli, this Friday.

The Ambassador of the European Union (EU) Andrew Jacob said it is a recommendation for the international movement and reactivation of the international flight, to facilitate diplomatic movement and even transport health equipment and humanitarian assistance.

“We are delighted to meet Brigadier General Aluk and congratulated for the good job done by CIMC and the government for fighting against covid-19 and we support the covid-19 vaccine campaign. At the same time, we explained the international flight to Brigadier General Aluk. The discussion of the International movement to comply with the preventive measure that was established in Timor-Leste.,” Mr. Jacob said.

He said all Embassies in Timor-Leste in committed to supporting Timor-Leste in combating COVID-19 disease and the flood that happen the last April.

The US Ambassador, Charles Kevin Blackstone considers this is a very important meeting to talk with Brigadier general Joao Miranda Aluk for the more assistance provided by the United States of America Embassy also more support that will be announced next week.

Mr. Kevin BlackStone is proud of good coordination between all diplomatic, CIMC, and government members to combat covid-19.

The United States is in commitment to continue supporting the government of Timor-Leste to fight against covid-19 and recovery floods. The United State embassy will announce another US assistance for victims affected by natural disasters.
