DILI, 24 june 2021 (TATOLI) – The Royal Thai Ambassador to Timor-Leste, Ekapol Pulpipat, highly appreciates the construction of the Tibar port bay because the Tibar bay port will help Timor-Leste’s economic growth.
“The Thai government is ready to cooperate with the Government of Timor-Leste through the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, and has plans to expedite the export and import of goods when the construction of the Tibar bay port has been completed and already done the operational,” said Pulpipat in the Royal Thai Embassy Farol, Dili to the Journalist of TATOLI News Agency on thursday.
Pulpipat explained that there are many companies in Thailand who want to invest in Timor-Leste to open companies in Timor-Leste such as selling cars and also want to open other companies but they are still waiting for the bay port Tibar to operate.
The Royal Thai Embassy has coordinated with big companies in Thailand to come and invest in Timor-Leste and they are ready to invest but they want the port of Tibar to operate first because they will come directly with their big ship.
With the operation of the bay Tibar port, big ships from Thailand will directly dock at the bay Tibar port to export and import goods from Thailand and will also export agricultural products such as dry konjac which has recently been exported from Timor-Leste to Thailand.
Pulpipat believes that there will be many people will work in the bay port Tibar because big ships from Thailand and other countries will dock to carry out their trade processes so that Timor-Leste’s economy will grow up because many Timorese are already working in the bay Tibar port and the government of Timor-Leste will collect many taxes and the result of taxes will develop Timor-Leste in generally.
